VTGOP Chair Thanks former DNC Chairman Howard Dean for Calling Out Fellow Democrats
Earlier this week former DNC Chairman Howard Dean sent a letter to news media outlets, and VTGOP Chairman Paul Dame issued the following response:
“I am thankful that former DNC Chairman Dean has the courage to call out his own party and draw attention to a number of their mistakes:
1) Chairman Dean drew attention to the fact that former Mayor Miro Weinberger abandoned his city of Burlington with a $13 Million budgeting error, which has now been unexpectedly dumped in the lap of his successor.
2) Chairman Dean opposed fellow Democrat Curt Taylor of Colchester and other House Democrats who are suggesting that we should remove local control of school budgets when taxpayers vote “no” too many times.
3) Chairman Dean highlighted the toxic atmosphere that has grown under Democrat Speaker Jill Krowinski and Senate Pro Temp Philip Baruth
We also appreciate the fact that Chairman Dean has highlighted the fact that the last time there was a cooperative working environment was when Republicans controlled the House. Vermont Republicans welcome his endorsement for another Republican House majority in 2024.
Chairman Dean’s interest in the race is already helping Vermont Republicans make the case that today’s Democrats in the supermajority are out of touch. If Vermonters vote Republican at the local level, we have the best chance to “Get Real” and bring us back to better days of fiscal responsibility and common sense”
